Play-Based Preschool for Ages 2 to 5

Our preschool in Concord, CA serves children ages 2 to 5 with a Reggio-inspired, play-based program. Teachers plan from what children are curious about, then weave early literacy, numeracy, science and art into hands-on projects, so learning feels like play because it is.

Two-year-olds settle into routines, language and friendships. By four and five, children are leading small-group projects, expressing ideas through art and music, and practicing the independence and social skills that make the move to TK or kindergarten feel natural.

  • Reggio-inspired, child-led projects
  • Early literacy and numeracy through play
  • Science, STEM, art and music
  • Social-emotional growth and independence
  • Outdoor learning in a large fenced yard
  • CoCoKids and CalWORKs accepted
What Your Child Will Learn

Preschool: Where Curiosity Becomes Learning

Children learn best when they can explore, create, question and discover. Our preschool combines intentional teaching with child-led exploration, so every project builds real skills along the way. Kindergarten and TK readiness is a goal we take seriously, balanced with creativity, confidence and well-being, because children develop at different paces.

  • Early Literacy & Numeracy

Stories, songs, rhymes and rich conversation build vocabulary and a love of books. Counting, sorting and patterns turn up in block play, games and daily routines, so early math grows out of everyday moments rather than worksheets.

  • Science & STEM

Children observe nature, animals, plants and changing weather, build with blocks, design bridges and solve problems together. Age-appropriate technology supports exploration without ever replacing hands-on discovery.

  • Art, Music & Movement

Painting, creative projects, music and movement give children many ways to express ideas and feelings. Indoor and outdoor activities build coordination and confidence through physical play every single day.

  • Social-Emotional Growth

Teachers help children name feelings, take turns, work through conflicts and build friendships. Emotional awareness and self-regulation are practiced daily, because they matter as much as letters and numbers when kindergarten arrives.

  • Independence & Practical Life

Age-appropriate routines, self-care and classroom responsibilities help children do things for themselves. Confidence comes from being trusted with real tasks, from pouring their own water to putting materials back where they belong.

  • Outdoor Discovery

Our large fenced yard, with areas separated by age, is part of the classroom. Children climb, dig, run and connect with nature as a regular part of every day, and teachers bring the outdoors into projects whenever curiosity leads there.
